HOTT-3-Trail-of-Longing-500x750

Emma Sutton fell in love with Dr. Dean Meyers on the very first day of their journey west on the Oregon Trail. Dean is handsome, caring, and noble. If only she could tell him! Dean Meyers is determined to make the long journey west to start a new life and leave the horrors of the Civil War behind him. He is charmed by Emma and amused by her mother, and can finally see peace in his future. But when an old colleague shows up to turn his world upside down, it’s all Dean can do to keep love, hope, and Emma from slipping away. All seems lost until Emma finds herself in danger and Dean is given a chance to be a hero…if he can reach her in time.

Love will give her courage to find her voice and follow her heart…

So, yeah, I love sex. But I'm not a sub. That's never been me. I like to maintain control in the bedroom. That gets me off.

But when the guy I've been chatting up online as a potential roommate shows up at my condo dripping sex and temptation… let's just say I might be open to trying new things… for him.

If his playboy ways don’t drive me insane. And if I can do the one thing I've never done for anyone. Surrender.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. But when you live here full time… that's not much comfort, is it?

NOCTE-300pxSAVE ME AND I'LL SAVE YOU....

My name is Calla Price. I’m eighteen years old, and I’m one half of a whole. My other half-- my twin brother, my Finn--is crazy.

I love him. More than life, more than anything. And even though I’m terrified he’ll suck me down with him, no one can save him but me.

I’m doing all I can to stay afloat in a sea of insanity, but I’m drowning more and more each day. So I reach out for a lifeline.

Dare DuBray.

He’s my savior and my anti-Christ. His arms are where I feel safe, where I’m afraid, where I belong, where I’m lost. He will heal me, break me, love me and hate me. He has the power to destroy me.

Maybe that’s ok. Because I can’t seem to save Finn and love Dare without everyone getting hurt.

Why? Because of a secret.

A secret I’m so busy trying to figure out, that I never see it coming.

You won’t either.

Can Two Desperate Souls Find Hope On the Trail?

We are returning once more to the women from the 'Hot On the Trail' series; with Merry Farmer's second installment, Trail of Hope. Full of mischief, an occasional natural disaster, the pain of loss, and then finding hope somewhere you thought you would never find it.

Our story begins with a young woman named Callie Lewis, who you might remember from Trail of Kisses if you had the pleasure of reading it ( if you haven't, I would highly suggest you stop reading this and indulge in Trail of Kisses immediately). For Callie, her journey begins in Kansas Territory in the year 1863, where she is traveling west to Oregon with her brother Greg along with his wife and son. Callie despised being on the trail, she would much rather be back home in Independence, but after the death of their parents, Greg made the decision to head out west in order to start a new life for themselves. Just as they were preparing to leave, Greg started showing signs of fever, but against Callie's concerns he persisted they head out. Little did they know, things were soon become so much worse for everyone, especially for Callie.

Two weeks after being on the trail, Callie has found herself all alone after the death of Greg and his wife and son, in result of their fever becoming worse than even the doctor could do to save them. Now, as Callie finds herself wondering what she will do, she comes to the realization that in order to survive, she must find herself a man to marry. With the sparse choices she had, she decides on the shy, quiet, handsome widower, John Rye. Although he agrees to marry Callie, he still battles the grief inside of him form loosing his dear wife when she was attempting to give birth to their son. For a year he has grieved, and now his plan was to deliver some goods to a store in Denver City; and once he had finished he was going to reunite with his wife and son at last. But his thoughts and feelings begin to change as he gets to know Callie more and more.

With the two of them still in so much grief of the loved ones they have loss, will they be able to find happiness at last? Will Callie finally be able to let herself go and find the love Greg wanted her to find? Will John be able let go of his wife and open his heart fully for Callie, and be the husband she deserves? From each other, will they be able to find hope?

Merry Farmer has done it again with Trail of Hope. I new I would enjoy reading this, but I never realized how much I would fall in love with it. What I loved most about this story was the way Marry created John Rye. Unlike Cade Lawson from Trail of Kisses, who has this strong, dark, charming, stubborn, protective persona about him; John for me was on the other end of the spectrum. When I first read about him, I could picture a sweet, sensitive, shy man; who was tormented by something from from his past, Now, I have read many western romances, and they have all been great; but sometimes the cowboys tend to be a little from the same cloth, charming, good looking, handsome, sexy, know what they want ant they get it. With the way Merry created her men, she made each one showing a different side to them. As Trail of Hope had that touch of steamy sexiness like Trail of Kisses, what I loved is that it had a more sweet tender touch to this story, which made all the more perfect. So, I hope after reading this I have, if not completely then somewhat, convinced you to grab yourself a copy of Trail of Hope.  Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Ready To Get Hitched?

Before I begin this review, I would like to take this moment to say that I am proud to be a BETA reader for Karpov-Kinrade, and I couldn't be more happy to be a part of it. As, my first official duty of being a BETA reader, I had the pleasure of reading their newest hit, Hitched. For those of you who checked out the cover reveal I posted in the beginning of last month, you have a grasp of what this story is about. If you missed the opportunity, well, I will give you a taste of what Hitched is about. The story starts off with couples Kacie Michales and Sebastian Donovan, who meet, find attraction with one another, and wake up the morning in a Las Vegas hotel married! Now, I know some of you might be thinking this is just another one of those "we hooked up and now we're hitched" kind of novels. Well you're wrong, this story is so much more. Yes, it's witty, steamy, sexy; but it's also abotu love, losing love, finding love, and watching your favorite characters fight a battle inside themselves to their passion they feel for each other. Hitched is not released yet, not until November 23, but when it does I strongly recommend that you grab yourself a copy and lose yourself in the world of Hitched.

If you would like to preorder Hitched just use one of these links below:

Also go check out the Hitched page here:

Check out the blurb for Court of Nightfall:

I've spent my life in shades of grey. It wasn't until I died that my world filled with color.

That night, I still lived in black and white.

There was a full moon. Full and looking as if it had been rolled in powdered sugar then plopped back into the sky, so that a white dusting shone around it like a halo.

I've never believed in monsters, or any of that nonsense. Never believed that the dark could be scary.

Until that night.

Now I know the truth, but it is shrouded with lies.

Now I can see the world in color, but it is covered in shadows.

Now, I must find the monster that killed my parents.

And when I do, I will use my new powers to seek vengeance. A life for the lives that beast stole from me.

I am no longer just Scarlett Night, the color-blind girl who dreams of flying.

Now, I am Nightfall—a fallen angel with a lust for blood. And I shall have my revenge.

The Bridge of Deaths 75th Anniversary Event!

Have you ever had a moment in your life, when you paused what you were doing and pondered if you lived in another lifetime? Perhaps, you were the son of King Midas, or a surgeon traveling among Black Beards crew across the high seas. Whichever it was, you just knew deep inside your heart, that this was not your first time on Earth.

Well, for Bill, this happened to be the case for him. For him, he was a pilot, who unfortunately, became mixed up in something far greater he could ever thought to handle.

Based on the devastating true events on April 15, 1939, The Bridge of Deaths, written by M.C.V. Egan is a tale full of mystery, love, knowledge, and it will leave you with one question burning in your mind: What happened on that plane all those years ago? This story begins with Bill, who has been suffering from nightmares of an event that he has no clue what it's about. That is, until he meets Maggie at Foyles Bookstore, and from there their loves begins to blossom. Now these two can be no more different than oil is to water. For Bill is a sensible, levelheaded, man of common sense; whereas Maggie comes from a childhood fairies, wishes, and believing in the power of crystals. But those opposites do not matter for these two, for their feelings for each other is far greater than anything you can imagine. As much as I would love to just tell you that this story is all about their love, sadly I would be untruthful; for we still have the deal with Bill's nightmares and what they could ever possibly mean. With Maggie's spiritual background from her childhood, she encourages Bill to open his mind to past-life regression; and before they both realize, things soon begin to unravel. Left with details of a plane crash by Storstrom Bridge(aka The Bridge of Deaths), and that in his past-life regression he was somehow a part of it, him and Maggie set out to finding answers. Soon, they seek the help of Catalina, who's grandfather was a victim on the same flight, and with her knowledge of what she has come up with from her research, she agrees to assist them. Before any of them realize, they begin to open up a giant can of worms that they will never see coming.

As much as it would give me great pleasure to continue telling you everything about this story, I must refrain myself so that I do not give everything away. So, if you haven't had the opportunity of reading it, then I highly suggest that you go and get yourself a copy of The Bridge of Deaths as soon as possible. For those who have read it, I hope you agree with me when I say that it was spectacular; and if you were left with some questions do not fret. For I was able to have some of my own answered by the author herself:

1. Is Bridge of Deaths really a culmination of 2 decades of research? Why are you so interested in WW II History?
Yes, at least a good eighteen years of research. I was so clueless when I began to dig around the plane crash that killed my grandfather in 1939 so I guess someone with a better historical background would have never taken that long.

I am embarrassed to admit that I had to look up almost every incident I came across even something as common knowledge as The Munich Pact.

I know I had to have studied it at some point in school or university but to be honest I know I did fail history at least once.

2. Why are you releasing a revised edition and what is different from the original?
When I released the original in 2011 I was so afraid that people would dispute some of the files I used that I carefully and meticulously added footnotes for EVERYTHING, over 200.

To my surprise some people loved that, mainly lawyers! But it felt like awkward reading for some, and it was understandable, especially in the e-book format as the footnotes can be distracting.  In the revised version I added the necessary footnotes to the narrative and got rid of all of them. I also summarized tow parts that were loaded with information and detail and added them to the back as appendices for the more curious readers.

The book is formatted in a very user friendly way so the reader can go from one chapter to the other or to the appendices.

To give it a more up to date touch, as the book takes place in 2010. I added an epilogue in the summer of 2012.

The new cover has the image of my grandfather's watch which is part of the story.

3. Over 200 footnotes? So this is not a novel, or is it?
Oh yes it is a novel. It has fictional elements so it must be categorized as such. The characters that sift through the data are fictional even if two are strongly based on real people; one of whom is me!

I also used very "unorthodox" ways to research such as psychics and past life regressions; not my own, and that to many is fiction.

4. How did you use psychics and past lives?
I have two watches, one is my grandfather's and another sent to us by British Airways LTD. The use of psychometry is not that scoffed at, I mean FBI has used it, so I thought, why not? It was just amazing, with no photos or previous knowledge a psychic started describing the bridge and another the lettering on the wing of the plane.

The most shocking was that all described to a T another of the men who died for the second watch, no spoiler! I won't tell you which but it was uncanny. There were five people gifted in psychometry who did this for me.

The individual who had the long past life regressions, five in total has asked to remain anonymous, but I was allowed to sit in and take notes, they were also recorded but the quality is horrible which is a shame because just like Maggie in the book, I did go 'under' and slept through one of them!

About The Bridge of Deaths
"M.C.V. Egan twists truth and fiction until you question your perceptions...it is a story of real love, triumph and search for self." - Beckah Boyd @ The Truthful Tarot
5 out of 5 stars:  "An unusual yet much recommended read." - Midwest Book Review

On August 15th, 1939, an English passenger plane from British Airways Ltd. crashed in Danish waters between the towns of Nykøbing Falster and Vordingborg. There were five casualties reported and one survivor. Just two weeks before, Hitler invaded Poland.
With the world at the brink of war, the manner in which this incident was investigated left much open to doubt. The jurisdiction battle between the two towns and the newly formed Danish secret police created an atmosphere of intrigue and distrust.
The Bridge of Deaths is a love story and a mystery. Fictional characters travel through the world of past life regressions and information acquired from psychics as well as archives and historical sources to solve "one of those mysteries that never get solved." Based on true events and real people, The Bridge of Deaths is the culmination of 18 years of sifting through conventional and unconventional sources in Denmark, England, Mexico and the United States. The story finds a way to help the reader feel that s/he is also sifting through data and forming their own conclusions.
Cross The Bridge of Deaths into 1939, and dive into cold Danish waters to uncover the secrets of the G-AESY.

About the author
M.C.V. Egan is the pen name chosen by Maria Catalina Vergara Egan. Catalina was born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1959, the sixth of eight children, in a traditional Catholic family.
From a very young age, she became obsessed with the story of her maternal grandfather, Cesar Agustin Castillo--mostly the story of how he died.
She spent her childhood in Mexico. When her father became an employee of The World Bank in Washington D.C. in the early 1970s, she moved with her entire family to the United States. Catalina was already fluent in English, as she had spent one school year in the town of Pineville, Louisiana with her grandparents. There she won the English award, despite being the only one who had English as a second language in her class.
In the D.C. suburbs she attended various private Catholic schools and graduated from Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland in 1977. She attended Montgomery Community College, where she changed majors every semester. She also studied in Lyons, France, at the Catholic University for two years. In 1981, due to an impulsive young marriage to a Viking (the Swedish kind, not the football player kind), Catalina moved to Sweden where she resided for five years and taught at a language school for Swedish, Danish, and Finnish businesspeople. She then returned to the USA, where she has lived ever since. She is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Swedish.
Maria Catalina Vergara Egan is married and has one son who, together with their five-pound Chihuahua, makes her feel like a full-time mother. Although she would not call herself an astrologer she has taken many classes and taught a few beginner classes in the subject.
The celebrated her 52nd birthday on July 2nd, 2011, and gave herself self-publishing The Bridge of Deaths as a gift.

Do You Believe In Magic?

How many of you have had that childhood, where grownups told the young ones stories of places that were so magical they could only exist in dreams? For these three best friends, fairy tales were the stories they heard and created themselves. Until one day, they discovered something magical does exist...just not in our world. The Strings of the Violin, written by Alisse Lee Goldenberg, is a story full of adventure, magic, and friendship.
This tale begins with Carrie Eisen, a teenager who only wants to enjoy her summer before senior year doing as little as possible. Of course, her summer would be the ideal summer if it were spent without her two best friends, Rebecca Campbell and Lindsay Smith. Now, this isn't just any ordinary best friends trio, oh no, these here are three friends who met one preschool day and decided to pretend they were a pack of wolves. Ever since, they have been inseparable and have done just about everything together; from creating their own fairy tales, to going on a journey so similar to the tales they grew up hearing. Now, I know I'm getting ahead of myself, I bet you are what magical journey I could be talking about. Well, allow me to brief you on what is the magical world known as Hadariah. It's a kingdom full of people, talking animals, and creatures whom you have always thought existed in your dreams. Now, darkness has settled over the land, for a Evil king known as Asmodeus, has stolen strings from a precious violin that brought life to everyone and everything. The King and Queen of light have tried everything in their power to retrieve the strings; but they have have failed, and as a last resort they send out for someone who can finally restore life in Hadariah. With this knowledge, we return to Carrie who has reached status lazy in her backyard, when she is visited by a fox. This isn't just your average fox, and Carrie soon realizes that when the fox opens his mouth and words come out asking for Carrie's help and to journey on a quest. With the thought of venturing on a quest full of magic, the three friends agree to help in any way they can in returning the strings back to the violin.
As much as I would love to tell you all about their journey, I cannot. You will just have to trust me when I say that it is full of trickery, adventure, and discovering new friends. I highly suggest if you love reading about other worlds, magical creatures both good and evil, and the occasional talking animals, you will love reading The Strings of the Violin.

*CAUTION: SPOILERS BELOW FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T READ THE STRINGS OF THE VIOLIN!!!*
Carrie returns to Hadariah once more for another daring adventure, except this time with a new agenda!
It's been one year since her friends have returned from defeating the evil Asmodeus, and Carrie is now attending York University. Sadly, her friends are not with her; Rebecca is off at Ottawa, and Lindsay is at Berklee School of Music. Being apart from each other has never been easy, but they make do with phone calls and skype. With the birthdays of her two best friends, Carrie is looking forward to seeing them again, so much that she decides to email them both with plans for when they meet the following week. When days pass without hearing from either of them, she begins to worry that something has happened to them. Around this time, Carrie has noticed a strange young man following her around campus, and it is not until she has a dream of her Rebecca and Lindsay, when he finally makes he presence know to her. This man known as Mikhail, says he is from Hadariah and that he must protect her from those who wish to do harm to her for defeating Asmodeus. Unfortunately, her friends were not so lucky, for they have been taken. For this reason, Carrie returns with only one goal in mind: find and rescue her friends.
Once again, Carrie embarks on a journey, but she will not be alone, for she will have Mikhail and Emilia to aid her for whatever awaits her.
